Cardiovascular disease is responsible for ¼ of all deaths in the UK and less than 1 in 10 survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the UK. That’s one person dying every three minutes from a cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest can affect any age. Every week in the UK 12 young, fit and healthy people lose their lives to sudden cardiac death.
But if CPR is performed within two minutes, by a bystander, then the chance of survival is increased by 81% and a 95% higher chance of surviving without significant brain damage compared to no CPR.
For these reasons, Central London Alliance is aiming to set a bold new record for the most people participating in a CPR relay, with a target of training and involving 4,000 participants. Every individual taking part must be CPR-trained, meaning that even if the record is not achieved, thousands of people will gain the knowledge needed to save a life.
Central London Alliance’s mission is to raise vital awareness of the importance of learning this critical lifesaving technique and to drive purposeful community engagement with workers, organisations and networks of all sizes in Central London.

Making History Together
In a remarkable example of resilience and endurance the

completing nearly 40 hours of continuous play. An outstanding
endeavour demonstrating
determination and a ‘can do’ attitude. As the ball kept the
rally alive, every second also
contributed to raising crucial funds for The Lord Mayor’s
Appeal.
